With all the long bank holiday weekends and glorious sunshine we’ve been having here, I’ve been spending my free time in the garden, sewing and cooking up new ideas. </p> <p align="center">Recently listed in the shop are these heart necklaces, I’m really into hearts at the moment and have so far made this necklace in red and turquoise which just so happen to be my favourite colours! </p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TcfE5D33thI/AAAAAAAAAQA/jjCC3P7mmGY/s1600-h/DSCF5607%5B21%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSCF5607" border="0" alt="DSCF5607" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TcfE5mbfkWI/AAAAAAAAAQE/69GTXBZ9HE0/DSCF5607_thumb%5B19%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="294" height="407" /></a></p> Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-15279883514835296772011-03-24T15:51:00.000+00:002011-03-24T15:51:00.624+00:00Fabric necklaces<p>I’ve always loved fabric and combining my love of fabric with my love of jewellery. Last year I made a few fabric necklaces for various fairs I attended and they always went down really well with customers.</p> <p>Look out for a new range of necklaces for Spring/Summer in my <a href="http://www.rubyreloved.etsy.com">shop</a> over the next few weeks.</p> <p>Here’s a sneak preview:</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TYjFlSV93TI/AAAAAAAAAPU/SVDHnhFLBp8/s1600-h/DSCF4939%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSCF4939" border="0" alt="DSCF4939" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TYjFmIA6kxI/AAAAAAAAAPY/3qm02Lh61fw/DSCF4939_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="364" height="280" /></a></p> <p>A Cath Kidston shabby chic styleee necklace.</p> <p>You like? </p> <p>x</p> Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-67051900091024934602011-03-23T15:35:00.000+00:002011-03-23T15:35:00.389+00:00Custard Cream Cuteness<p>Since Laura (AKA Lupin @ Bugs and Fishes) <a href="http://bugsandfishes.blogspot.com/2010/10/giant-custard-cream.html">blogged</a> about this tin back in October last year, I’ve wanted one.  Although unsurprisingly they had sold out at every Marks and Spencer near us.</p> <p>This Sunday we were at an Outlet Mall near us and lo and behold there they were. A huge stack of them going for £3 each! I showed mild restraint in only buying two, however I wish I had bought a couple more now as they’d make lovely birthday gifts.</p> <p>So here it is: My tin, sans biscuits, which have already been eaten by my husband and my dad. Oh well, I’m perfectly happy with an empty tin that I can fill crafty gubbins and works in progress.</p> <p align="center"> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:d89389a9-aaaf-42c7-9f87-de01cb7818f0" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent">LiveJournal Tags: <a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=custard+cream" rel="tag">custard cream</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=marks+and+spencer+tin" rel="tag">marks and spencer tin</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=sale" rel="tag">sale</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=finds" rel="tag">finds</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=bugsandfishes" rel="tag">bugsandfishes</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=lupin" rel="tag">lupin</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=wips" rel="tag">wips</a>,<a href="http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=wip+tin" rel="tag">wip tin</a></div> <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TYjB7ibob5I/AAAAAAAAAPM/75xOnT5uaOs/s1600-h/DSCF4944%5B14%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSCF4944" border="0" alt="DSCF4944" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TYjB8OIXI-I/AAAAAAAAAPQ/tfCGLtMhZ94/DSCF4944_thumb%5B11%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="401" height="312" /></a></p> <p>Just yummy.</p> Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-71751392251219074592011-03-22T15:15:00.000+00:002011-03-22T15:20:47.706+00:00A new work space!<p align="center">Today is a good day, not only is the sun shining but I’ve finally managed to transfer all of my bits and bobs to my very own craft room/studio. Picking out combinations of sizes, shapes and hues is one of my favourite makes at the moment. </p> <p align="center">       <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TWUoESy-suI/AAAAAAAAANc/0gV_AfUSxH4/s1600-h/DSCF5453%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="DSCF5453" border="0" alt="DSCF5453" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SVd4FjSBym4/TWUoE7y4o_I/AAAAAAAAANg/EYc2UxUD62s/DSCF5453_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="359" height="276" /></a></p> <p align="center">They’ve been listed over at my <a href="http://www.rubyreloved.etsy.com">Etsy shop</a> and I can’t wait to make more. I think my personal favourite is the ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ yellow bracelet (front left) it gets me in the mood for spring time and on a rainy, dull day like today it is much needed.</p> <p align="center">Love</p> <p align="center">Ruby x </p> Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-76614395972476100792011-02-21T20:20:00.001+00:002011-02-21T20:20:48.368+00:00Look what Nanna knits!<p>Had a lovely, lovely day today. (The photo isn’t the greatest as I was in such a rush to share this with you!)</p> <p>It has elastic around the base to keep its shape,  holes for the spout and handle and a very VERY cute drawstring top. It was knitted from a 1950’s pattern that Nanna found in amongst her pile of patterns. Nanna is currently knitting away to fulfil family requests. I’m trying to encourage her to get them online and share her knitting with the world. It’d only be fair, wouldn’t it.</p> <p>xx</p> Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-25653666950091271032011-02-21T14:56:00.001+00:002011-02-21T14:56:16.866+00:00lovepaperfish.com<p>Kirsty of <a href="http://www.paperfish.etsy.com">Paperfish</a> on Etsy has launched her own online shop. <a href="http://www.lovepaperfish.com">lovepaperfish.com</a> includes lots of her much loved lines such as Pin Pots, Needle books and ooodles of glorious, superb quality buttons.</p> <p>What I love most about <a href="http://www.lovepaperfish.com">lovepaperfish.com</a> is the ideas and inspiration page. I am lucky enough to have had the day off today due to the snow. I thought it would be nice to don my wellies and go for a little stroll this morning. Thought I'd share this cute button bauble tutorial.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOq2ygWrZwhkZ0PunqBzL_8tvyhNrugPg0r0ElQAaCh47U5fQqrP8_mJWEifchxHO8rAn-nl6gZUn9WdmGN2KGLfBduBIoifMPfm9jD2nI_FftYOhYe8YTqbmU82UK-Rzd9djrN1Jr-r4/s1600/DSCF4652.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOq2ygWrZwhkZ0PunqBzL_8tvyhNrugPg0r0ElQAaCh47U5fQqrP8_mJWEifchxHO8rAn-nl6gZUn9WdmGN2KGLfBduBIoifMPfm9jD2nI_FftYOhYe8YTqbmU82UK-Rzd9djrN1Jr-r4/s320/DSCF4652.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">You will need: </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Felt - any colour of your choice</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Ribbon - small scraps that need to be used up are perfect for this make</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Buttons - various shapes and sizes</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrjejqLPOonhiSqZ5pmnuKftNih_FvconLzGfyZyo3UXLJr-tmOKj4hQGjtVmZ_JWgbKD98ZbpPhnYOTW8BAj_7ZcElgeUphwgDXOW7faK4C0XvIidzNWrlS4iswgV-LVBgYbx6BYPS1s/s1600/DSCF4597.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrjejqLPOonhiSqZ5pmnuKftNih_FvconLzGfyZyo3UXLJr-tmOKj4hQGjtVmZ_JWgbKD98ZbpPhnYOTW8BAj_7ZcElgeUphwgDXOW7faK4C0XvIidzNWrlS4iswgV-LVBgYbx6BYPS1s/s320/DSCF4597.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">1. Begin by cuttng 2 felt circles in a colour of your choice, I simply used a glass to draw around.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">2. Choosing the buttons is by far my favourite part of this make. I opted to go for non-traditional Christmas colours for this bauble</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzMXcTm5U00COOAl66h833B8OgDtBV-eH0c9Zq3kuyQ8aRoClZuqMAD5qKAmP_KYWKAVts2VITjuIRmV7KF1ll2As8odmi12vCpsTd3QspTaqqWNZWozq0iAaB1LLTV5JdPOcFJ42Egss/s1600/DSCF4604.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzMXcTm5U00COOAl66h833B8OgDtBV-eH0c9Zq3kuyQ8aRoClZuqMAD5qKAmP_KYWKAVts2VITjuIRmV7KF1ll2As8odmi12vCpsTd3QspTaqqWNZWozq0iAaB1LLTV5JdPOcFJ42Egss/s320/DSCF4604.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">3. Stitch your buttons onto your <u>top circle only</u>. You can either leave a space between your buttons or overlap them as I have done. I personally prefer to overlap the buttons for a 'bursting with buttons' effect.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9K7MS147iWoCpvtlfTMzfughwwcimlmnDnRexLT8NTLYa-bBRccN7kkgc2kWu2ZP35PQqJnrFq2Yn1-pn5RQH9HVtvE3jYOduywvfAQ_10YQTIxFFPHuLmLOvS1ZypbLSHSb9h3L73WU/s1600/DSCF4609.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9K7MS147iWoCpvtlfTMzfughwwcimlmnDnRexLT8NTLYa-bBRccN7kkgc2kWu2ZP35PQqJnrFq2Yn1-pn5RQH9HVtvE3jYOduywvfAQ_10YQTIxFFPHuLmLOvS1ZypbLSHSb9h3L73WU/s320/DSCF4609.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Keep overlapping the buttons....</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">4. When you have stitched your buttons on, choose a piece of ribbon to make a loop with and sew it onto the back of the buttoned front circle. <em>ETA: I would usually do this first before attatching my buttons but it's ok to do it afterwards too, I was just giddy to get started!</em></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">5. Now place the back circle of felt in place and use a pin to secure to the front. The amount of things to do is mind boggling and we're only having 50 guests! Early on I decided on the style of dress I'm having and found someone locally to make it for me. I also decided on my bridesmaids dresses too and they set the tone for the day:<br />

Look! My Canary fabric necklace made the front page of Etsy last week. I was incredibly excited and proud, not only that <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/brydferth">Brydferth</a> over on Etsy had added my necklace to her gorgeous Treasury but that it had made it to the front page and recieved over 1000 views. Now to many establised Etsians it may be 'par for the course' to have lots of views and feature on the front page but for me, in my humble infancy, it was amazing! <br />
<br />
In other news, more fabric necklaces and button jewellery will be added to my shop soon and I'll be sure to return and post some preview pics this evening. For now though, I shall celebrate my moment of front page fame with a cup of tea and a banana muffin (homemade, of course!)<br />

I found myself looking through my jars (well boxes :S) of buttons today when I came across some lovely little charms I'd forgotten all about! <br />
I new I simply had to use them, and seeing as though they'd obviously spent a long time making friends with my button collection I decided to make them a permanent home together on a bracelet. Here's the result: <br />

I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, it's now listed <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/47681670/love-button-charm-bracelet">here</a> on in my shop. Waiting to be sent to a new home :)<br />

*ETA - should I worry that I am personifying my buttons?*Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-81440774173923674292010-04-15T12:03:00.008+01:002010-04-15T13:43:56.237+01:00InspirationLately I have been looking for a way to incorporate my love of textiles with my love of jewellery. I began experimenting with some designs for fabric and felt necklaces but I wasn't too happy with the results. Something was missing... Then I came across <a href="http://www.fabricrehab.co.uk">Fabric Rehab</a> <br /><br /><a href="http://www.fabricrehab.co.uk/images/logo.gif"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 92px;" src="http://www.fabricrehab.co.uk/images/logo.gif" border="0" alt="" /></a><br />What have I been missing out on all this time?! The fabric is beautiful and there's such a wide selection. I suddenly found myself filled with inspiration for my necklaces. I bought fabric with owls, lovebirds, quirky 50's patterns and of course polka dots. Here's how it's going so far.. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxCUOZWS-rdELblz8Unw_k_-Rwadv8YQR9dBvGMF6BX6Q2tBZ9CFGuvLiOFcWNeUB1DQ2BFMQUtFOhzZVnGpk40sAphdyk8g2QFywtIfngEGaOtZsGTA6-8wVvpH8Z3UerTtiVF-3JP-Y/s1600/DSCF3776.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxCUOZWS-rdELblz8Unw_k_-Rwadv8YQR9dBvGMF6BX6Q2tBZ9CFGuvLiOFcWNeUB1DQ2BFMQUtFOhzZVnGpk40sAphdyk8g2QFywtIfngEGaOtZsGTA6-8wVvpH8Z3UerTtiVF-3JP-Y/s400/DSCF3776.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460341341011333890" /></a><br /><br />Some other shapes i've been experimenting with:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf9Dp5xzXfvnFmxtIW2we5VDZP62uCvxtD20JzWiUW963n_p-1XVLSB_Ah1ze2po9v3QHiSCpfUEtysJ_PAE8n5zKdAJqUqTS-fVqoqcF_PiwM6niuDEladOUZdM5h45ck0ZvMXMU_fBs/s1600/DSCF3779.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf9Dp5xzXfvnFmxtIW2we5VDZP62uCvxtD20JzWiUW963n_p-1XVLSB_Ah1ze2po9v3QHiSCpfUEtysJ_PAE8n5zKdAJqUqTS-fVqoqcF_PiwM6niuDEladOUZdM5h45ck0ZvMXMU_fBs/s400/DSCF3779.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460341627100831778" /></a><br /><br />I'm going to add chain and a pretty clasp to the fabric pieces today. So here goes, this is how <em>I</em> make my bunting. I don't profess to be a sewing expert or anything but I've found this method works for me.<br /><br />You will need:<br /><br /><strong>Fabric</strong> - any old fabric will do but the thicker cotton duck fabrics (usually used for curtains/cushions) are easier to work with if you're a sewing virgin!<br /><strong>Sewing cotton and embroidery thread</strong> - in colours of your choice, I've just used white.<br /><strong>Scissors<br />Greaseproof paper<br />Headed pins</strong><br /><strong>Sewing needle</strong><br /><strong>Bias binding </strong>- again in a colour of your choice<br /><strong>Sewing machine </strong>- although you <em>can</em> hand sew but it may take you a while!<br /><strong>Two large buttons </strong><br /><strong>Iron</strong><br /><strong>Felt</strong> - optional<br /><br />If, like me, you're making bunting for a special occasion like a wedding, birthday or christening then you might like to personalise the bunting using appliqued felt letters. <strong>Applique</strong> basically means sewing an embellishment (in this case lettering) onto another fabric.<br /><br /><br />I've included the 'happy birthday' print templates at the end of the tutorial as well as a template for the pennants - posh name for bunting flags don't you know ;)<br /><br />This tutorial will go through the steps to make Happy Birthday bunting so if you just want plain bunting miss out steps 2-4<br /><br /><strong>Step 1</strong><br />Choose your fabrics. You might like to pick a colour scheme or do what I did and go for a rainbow of colour.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2CHYlu5e-dmdo8VhgrP1132Tc0amf9mw-bSrQgtHUvlvA5ruWEO9k9d9dI2rz7bnC-_bIC3MHMFcK1s_zE-dmN9b48O-XBjTbs8as0UMJ5b9eN8rgIiBEOY45bfqAaBFVKRlfZhMEPbs/s1600/DSCF3722.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457411513401237682" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2CHYlu5e-dmdo8VhgrP1132Tc0amf9mw-bSrQgtHUvlvA5ruWEO9k9d9dI2rz7bnC-_bIC3MHMFcK1s_zE-dmN9b48O-XBjTbs8as0UMJ5b9eN8rgIiBEOY45bfqAaBFVKRlfZhMEPbs/s400/DSCF3722.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Transfer the paper pattern to greaseproof paper and pin to the fabric.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEsU2_52OrI2lacuqD5tdV7y0_5XoOpKn9mm2p5Z2TbHZPgHYMRCjWozIvd8ILs7NkKkuVpxkkgrKE05FIuyHx4q_xqF4UakQYnz8TumVQtseMVLRke8239x-trHPsnaxAIC4HmbJitSY/s1600/DSCF3723.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457414768630340754" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEsU2_52OrI2lacuqD5tdV7y0_5XoOpKn9mm2p5Z2TbHZPgHYMRCjWozIvd8ILs7NkKkuVpxkkgrKE05FIuyHx4q_xqF4UakQYnz8TumVQtseMVLRke8239x-trHPsnaxAIC4HmbJitSY/s400/DSCF3723.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Carefully cut around the edge. If you're not very confident when sewing it is better to use a wider ribbon or bias to allow room for error when sewing the flags on.<br />Iron the bias in half to make positioning easier then pin your flags in place, tucking the tops of the flags into the fold. </p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU-ZZfuI0msydEUpCYmezPBowsQB3-qhYSwKakqEO7fmljpbdLBt9piivjCPiCHsRfaAnN8jf-OkFPoX-ain6iLK3timWCJYZ5RugSUsmJk5ou6fxqJ_SzVezfhp5Lcagk9H8MC4JrO70/s1600/DSCF3758.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457423336285086162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU-ZZfuI0msydEUpCYmezPBowsQB3-qhYSwKakqEO7fmljpbdLBt9piivjCPiCHsRfaAnN8jf-OkFPoX-ain6iLK3timWCJYZ5RugSUsmJk5ou6fxqJ_SzVezfhp5Lcagk9H8MC4JrO70/s400/DSCF3758.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><strong>Step 8</strong><br />Use a wide zig-zag stitch to run along the bias to secure the flags in place. Having had lots of planning and other 'day job' related tasks to do lately I've found my mind tends to wander to more interersting pursuits such as cutting out hundreds of little felt flowers for my new fascinator designs. It all began when I made <a href="http://rubyreloved.blogspot.com/2010/02/spring-is-in-air.html">these</a> brooches last week. I had a few little flowers left and turned them into this:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVzA1aHP8yRtkaOlS-J-RttyF3g8LeU8uHiYZq_PhAwJo-wlH2atHL9T589-1IZJPHH9hd8UvYlCLTxNW_jKd_ApmyVWU33QgRZuiqCvgQDsl0YAS8ppByOIwAtNGRHuE94w-NBRwtCyc/s1600-h/DSCF3683.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVzA1aHP8yRtkaOlS-J-RttyF3g8LeU8uHiYZq_PhAwJo-wlH2atHL9T589-1IZJPHH9hd8UvYlCLTxNW_jKd_ApmyVWU33QgRZuiqCvgQDsl0YAS8ppByOIwAtNGRHuE94w-NBRwtCyc/s320/DSCF3683.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438169036547337106" /></a><br /><br />This is my prototype version of the design and i'm pretty happy with it. It has a hair comb stitched to the back and is measures 10cm in diameter. It was fairly labour intensive to make but when it comes to a chioce between sewing and paperwork, I know which I'd choose every time. <br /><br />Look out for these fascinators/cocktail hats in my <a href="http://www.rubyreloved.etsy.com">Etsy shop </a>in the not too distant future. <br /><br />PLUS as it's half term I can finally get around to posting a couple of fun tutorials I've had lurking in my WIP basket. Keep an eye out for those in the next few days. <br /><br />In the meantime I shall be putting these little flowers to good use<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI1-Cs46WRoTJfV4rYgwOBbvpX22FdvjV2Lfi1enVgq0pX-5g0U04-6qGbwsBL7Eo9pkIe6ccyY5go_pKS4Hfd6vdgTCjbx2raJuT3fF__-NRjhyvP89BxirtxAOtVyWh9YGO0w9EvW-c/s1600-h/DSCF3678.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI1-Cs46WRoTJfV4rYgwOBbvpX22FdvjV2Lfi1enVgq0pX-5g0U04-6qGbwsBL7Eo9pkIe6ccyY5go_pKS4Hfd6vdgTCjbx2raJuT3fF__-NRjhyvP89BxirtxAOtVyWh9YGO0w9EvW-c/s320/DSCF3678.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438170632686679282" /></a><br /><br />xRuby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-38522894787175554202010-02-04T12:43:00.008+00:002010-02-04T13:05:32.788+00:00Spring is in the air..well kind of. Although we've had a fleck or two of snow today my mind has been firmly on spring. I've been experimenting with new spring colours and styles including some bouquet brooches and cute button jewellery. I've loved cutting out lots of little flowers and it's kept my mind off my bad back. I've used some simply devine felt from <a href="www.lupin.etsy.com">Lupin</a> it's so soft and the colours are so vivid. Highly recommended.<br /><br />I'd love to know what you think of my new spring designs:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3DHcx4dfXQQYUt9NleszQ2yZ8wxlF_pOzAxXur0tgVm1JrfRKMA6esysE6uz78sN6luLxmu0DRkDVmmQqgBer6zh_KYn_O6zViJZbQ6zVnSGqz6uhfiVAK5sFopE-s6pvSnGK1FTUEz4/s1600-h/DSCF3659.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 258px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3DHcx4dfXQQYUt9NleszQ2yZ8wxlF_pOzAxXur0tgVm1JrfRKMA6esysE6uz78sN6luLxmu0DRkDVmmQqgBer6zh_KYn_O6zViJZbQ6zVnSGqz6uhfiVAK5sFopE-s6pvSnGK1FTUEz4/s320/DSCF3659.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434370446299807538" /></a><br /><br />A closer look<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Wgq6vgz1U0zLvtkQlbE4wvJgqYokddJesz0R3q2D3Awui2pp2HmBZicfGyqPk6xSC6axKfCA0bnAVTLr8AlK7WI34Kpa9h7FGYgW0z40CovoeiTY5KGgmGbPK4U81QuvjFrZoCBPD20/s1600-h/DSCF3661.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Wgq6vgz1U0zLvtkQlbE4wvJgqYokddJesz0R3q2D3Awui2pp2HmBZicfGyqPk6xSC6axKfCA0bnAVTLr8AlK7WI34Kpa9h7FGYgW0z40CovoeiTY5KGgmGbPK4U81QuvjFrZoCBPD20/s320/DSCF3661.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434371555864310690" /></a><br /><br />A rainbow of colour to cheer up a dull day!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHxVUlA6xaE8_Q_kbGsn6XXQ3_qT6z4PkzaijDTA9e-IvJnz-By7gou98gf98qzRJvInT6OfzQDBnn07CzOSgXQQg8ExerilExG_ztIH-lVIdKX5WRqJ1WpgQ8sn4GxbVXTeNqrrzedEY/s1600-h/DSCF3675.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHxVUlA6xaE8_Q_kbGsn6XXQ3_qT6z4PkzaijDTA9e-IvJnz-By7gou98gf98qzRJvInT6OfzQDBnn07CzOSgXQQg8ExerilExG_ztIH-lVIdKX5WRqJ1WpgQ8sn4GxbVXTeNqrrzedEY/s320/DSCF3675.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434371103893073250" /></a><br /><br />Oh and of course..BUTTONS lots and lots of beautiful cheery buttons<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihGwmLnihu1CdJ_cjngwGLPoz8HaZb8eiO78ZmYJkE-Ok_IxYEj3ZcUZDY5wBgMJ-uhRixZbpEauTrZ_eQeigJcY0oMjzYXHcY1JTw-Vf7KPXZvV_eV9oQgM2J6qPbnOKcTkn8DK5SzzU/s1600-h/DSCF3652.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihGwmLnihu1CdJ_cjngwGLPoz8HaZb8eiO78ZmYJkE-Ok_IxYEj3ZcUZDY5wBgMJ-uhRixZbpEauTrZ_eQeigJcY0oMjzYXHcY1JTw-Vf7KPXZvV_eV9oQgM2J6qPbnOKcTkn8DK5SzzU/s320/DSCF3652.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434371863529393154" /></a><br /><br />And finally, drum roll please...a NEW BUTTON NECKLACE DESIGN made with a collection of vintage buttons, each one totally unique!<br /> <br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihGv1WEL0_bQ1cRD8WLsr4vzebPz0aQs-qFbOAnNxZVdjGYJuvhUY4zltDcVPW5OSjRaaVmNTnsCLMEKwrNL8iXMQsV5CZ_i4bOtQdkxEoEt3yYckQsqfnUu89Ta5uqQLImbuBtmNq8iM/s1600-h/DSCF3629.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihGv1WEL0_bQ1cRD8WLsr4vzebPz0aQs-qFbOAnNxZVdjGYJuvhUY4zltDcVPW5OSjRaaVmNTnsCLMEKwrNL8iXMQsV5CZ_i4bOtQdkxEoEt3yYckQsqfnUu89Ta5uqQLImbuBtmNq8iM/s320/DSCF3629.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434372454097119490" /></a><br /><br />Don't you just love it when you see a design realised and it's exactly what you'd imagined. <br /><br />Ruby <3Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-17636521184330795532010-01-15T15:47:00.002+00:002010-01-15T16:08:40.369+00:00Exciting postIsn't it just lovely to get lovely things in the post. I arrived home yesterday to find not only a fab needlebook from <a href="http://www.paperfish.etsy.com">Paper Fish</a> but also my new iPhone i've needed a new one for a long time so I thought why not treat myself! So here I am, sitting on the sofa, sewing, taking photos and blogging! But I also harbour another passion; POLKA DOTS! So you can imagine how giddy I was to find these buttons over at <a href="www.bigfish.etsy.com">Big Fish</a> on Etsy. A simply divine supplies shop that could be disasterous for my bank balance. <br /><br />Here are the little sterling silver earrings i've made using them (and cute flower buttons I had lurking in my stash too)<br /><br />Spreading the polka dot love, a button at a time. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhchP7Q-oCI1Tzp_LgZZ55Md9GgY1eInl3-b3uaQK89voyuAGXq1jIj63NhNAgtniiSoXOOpleaXuzeOb_oGxhqYNC1dGBle-kIIs1w8C6ZybiqNZ_UToswfunOwEVUBrlHwC2XHzotk8g/s1600-h/DSCF3563.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhchP7Q-oCI1Tzp_LgZZ55Md9GgY1eInl3-b3uaQK89voyuAGXq1jIj63NhNAgtniiSoXOOpleaXuzeOb_oGxhqYNC1dGBle-kIIs1w8C6ZybiqNZ_UToswfunOwEVUBrlHwC2XHzotk8g/s320/DSCF3563.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5426332850063593170" /></a><br /><br /><br />Ruby <3Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-14555786638818105852010-01-13T17:11:00.006+00:002010-01-13T17:23:41.426+00:00Busy crafty days...Being a Teacher is hard. Being a Supply Teacher is arguably even harder. I've done both, supply is my title at the minute as it allows me to fit in time to work on my little business. Waiting for the phone to ring is always tense, sitting in my work clothes and wondering what the day will bring; day stepping into the unknown or day snuggled up on the sofa crafting. I know which i'd choose but I also know which one pays the bills!<br /><br />Due to the snowy snow this past week the majority of the schools were closed so there was plenty of time to make my coffee table look like this: <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKwTgcE3phCd70gFye1Df3JI4z0C7DPF4iAbyxdTlVwOa2tyn-m8mQYOU-4N5L-aVKwOLhC18QL_Y_JNPQ__bguwD4juXWvqB3rPCyEsQHlm1MWZNOIb474tAbbPk7K_LqTSBXt1sEywU/s1600-h/DSCF3487.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKwTgcE3phCd70gFye1Df3JI4z0C7DPF4iAbyxdTlVwOa2tyn-m8mQYOU-4N5L-aVKwOLhC18QL_Y_JNPQ__bguwD4juXWvqB3rPCyEsQHlm1MWZNOIb474tAbbPk7K_LqTSBXt1sEywU/s320/DSCF3487.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5426274465652917154" /></a><br /><br />and experiment with my newly aquired Cath Kidston fabric and make this: <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh91ZfBNcZR3zjrDUJzv1wlftK3fSiUKtQpaRvgIPdFxc1FmKxoX8HQq5XTwxptm_aXGeBT_ek-r94UBWivDnCPhGVyYmI2p-6k31aqUNzCHtbVLKvOnJtZu3Uu-_J9UT2XtcK0URKzHW0/s1600-h/DSCF3538.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh91ZfBNcZR3zjrDUJzv1wlftK3fSiUKtQpaRvgIPdFxc1FmKxoX8HQq5XTwxptm_aXGeBT_ek-r94UBWivDnCPhGVyYmI2p-6k31aqUNzCHtbVLKvOnJtZu3Uu-_J9UT2XtcK0URKzHW0/s320/DSCF3538.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5426274833163223250" /></a><br /><br />Still unsure about the folds and trying to get them more 'even' but for the time being I shall be wearing this brooch on my coat as I can't bring myself to put it in the drawer, unloved and alone (gosh I'm sad) <br /><br />I've also spent quite a lot of time stitching together these little button brooches that I've now listed over in my <a href="http://www.rubyreloved.blogspot.com">shop</a> (watch this space for more styles in the near future)<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWnqdvc_FJrjuVJahybhuH6HQ2fh9vImNps287c-h_IVDb36i_PQlE945FiNh0ZV-P5A43X-onKGWxPQxWvRy_WYAi1-cYFj2DBdBPNWR4JUyZXwWaRf9MJk_4QMdSAsGXMaVDISDK3gE/s1600-h/DSCF3532.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWnqdvc_FJrjuVJahybhuH6HQ2fh9vImNps287c-h_IVDb36i_PQlE945FiNh0ZV-P5A43X-onKGWxPQxWvRy_WYAi1-cYFj2DBdBPNWR4JUyZXwWaRf9MJk_4QMdSAsGXMaVDISDK3gE/s320/DSCF3532.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5426275776111369282" /></a><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjecrg2IIDyefgpUtBSN2IeMmu6zGMP4H_PB8Fn2-n50dck26HOkdMb17Xq2WSY9vohN4CrfEJBBqaztfss1h9Ian3fSi39voGHzoCNvmL91xk2ui1Q5iqSMH_-kFLk1kcx7wjcwr0P_sw/s1600-h/DSCF3509.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjecrg2IIDyefgpUtBSN2IeMmu6zGMP4H_PB8Fn2-n50dck26HOkdMb17Xq2WSY9vohN4CrfEJBBqaztfss1h9Ian3fSi39voGHzoCNvmL91xk2ui1Q5iqSMH_-kFLk1kcx7wjcwr0P_sw/s320/DSCF3509.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5426276033430444034" /></a><br /><br /><br />Ruby Reloved <3Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-21412551545508446562010-01-04T12:34:00.006+00:002010-01-04T18:31:52.194+00:00I'll find a tin and put it inSo far today I've been organising my craft supplies in my 'office'. My office is currently half of the kitchen and a part of the spare bedroom. I've recently managed to rehome the crockery that used to live in my red dresser and now it's on its way to becoming the home of all my bits and bobs. It's a work in progress and I still need to find a home for quite a lot of beads, buttons and fabric but here is how it's looking...<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs9NTG_M7hamAdqGOJ7qtWzII9_L7HpjBAXcf7Md-QR4otk7VTKrKBNqsMPs9iyZveKE3P93Ziak6CO5cdUu4Hg-O6iRAiADIsbcqpd9CszVOIxRBAmBkSHE2UDB2BfKhkhbW2KtG00mE/s1600-h/DSCF3358.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 207px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs9NTG_M7hamAdqGOJ7qtWzII9_L7HpjBAXcf7Md-QR4otk7VTKrKBNqsMPs9iyZveKE3P93Ziak6CO5cdUu4Hg-O6iRAiADIsbcqpd9CszVOIxRBAmBkSHE2UDB2BfKhkhbW2KtG00mE/s320/DSCF3358.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422866521691846690" /></a><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-mzMGdw-5TW3DVsJP5yiJbKZePEazVQOD0elHaVV2ASxxVEKIXiy0bCQj05kov8e0W2tcgBNmscU-5EppH4TmQ1f0rR_XTeVfgKffIgp0b73l6m-wJ5pySOvvHT9p5k8vYbYqUnDRts/s1600-h/DSCF3352.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI-mzMGdw-5TW3DVsJP5yiJbKZePEazVQOD0elHaVV2ASxxVEKIXiy0bCQj05kov8e0W2tcgBNmscU-5EppH4TmQ1f0rR_XTeVfgKffIgp0b73l6m-wJ5pySOvvHT9p5k8vYbYqUnDRts/s320/DSCF3352.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5422866793946291570" /></a><br /><br />I've labelled what goes where <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/rubyreloved/4243998065/">here</a> <br />Oh how I long for a little craft room all of my own..sighRuby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-29552564016396487902009-12-29T19:19:00.000+00:002009-12-29T19:37:43.110+00:00Crafty ambitions...Having had a few days rest through Christmas, my thoughts have once again turned to crafting, mainly how to coninue to develop my shop. I have a huge 'to do' list which includes; regularly blogging and remembering to take lots of photographs, updating flickr more often, adding extra details to my product descriptions on Etsy, making thank you cards, ordering supplies, taking photographs of my new gift packaging and making thank you cards to name but a few things. <br /><br />When I find myself faced with such a list my mind tends to wander to somewhere where I feel entirely more relaxed..making things! Here is a new style of brooch that is soon to appear in my Etsy shop: <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuWJUgpUA-x7LI-xAtVjYCwnEWX8AyqrsLrz-tUIbi6YukBC-ICxrQnVk4-4nOhbWVh_BpkjHbmH5o7JKtqzr1np38qP_UX99Pk13JIw0JVtXi7N33R3jnTO2DpaEsl4IMsfmAJDQHyO0/s1600-h/DSCF3289.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuWJUgpUA-x7LI-xAtVjYCwnEWX8AyqrsLrz-tUIbi6YukBC-ICxrQnVk4-4nOhbWVh_BpkjHbmH5o7JKtqzr1np38qP_UX99Pk13JIw0JVtXi7N33R3jnTO2DpaEsl4IMsfmAJDQHyO0/s320/DSCF3289.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420742461896020306" /></a><br /><br />I'm loving teal at the minute! I've always loved sewing and rarely have the time to sit down and do some; I'm hoping to add some more fabric and felt accessories to my <a href="http://www.rubyreloved.etsy.com/">shop</a> in the new year. My 'would like to do' list is growing bigger by the day. I'd love to add some tutorials to this blog and begin to market myself a little better. I'd also like to mingle with other crafty types and maybe sign up to a team, oh and get a shop set up on the fabulous <a href="http://www.folksy.com/">Folksy</a>. As you can see it's rather a long 'would like to do list' and i'm hoping that 2010 will be the start of some new crafty adventures...Ruby Relovedhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13548693414872939150noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463951321643651205.post-10332332144910885992009-12-08T11:32:00.001+00:002009-12-29T19:16:33.081+00:00Christmas, crafting and a jar of buttons...<div>Here goes my first blog... Having finally managed to create a Google account I am very excited to be part of the Blogging world!<br /><br />Chrismas seems to have crept up on me a little too quickly this year. Thanks to my long suffering other half we now have a beautiful Christmas tree! Dug up with his own fair hands at a fab little Nursery in Ricall. I love decorating the tree, carefully unwrapping all the baubles and wondering how I managed to be so organised when putting them away last year, deciding which little trinket should go where and clipping my gorgeous jewelled robins on the ends of branches. So here it is, my tree in all it's multicoloured glory:<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXD1C27MARdAltj0CVsteoOsQ2_zLWaY8r2BDauRrPhaurmLCcBmbH99dSivGiCr-Y5kiDD1lDkLKYSpW0w37kcWzfSe1JSKkc5b7ToGScBHp-xp9bo9K1UuJDBZej3RAkOwH6Finogjw/s1600-h/DSCF2930.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412838877910269586" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXD1C27MARdAltj0CVsteoOsQ2_zLWaY8r2BDauRrPhaurmLCcBmbH99dSivGiCr-Y5kiDD1lDkLKYSpW0w37kcWzfSe1JSKkc5b7ToGScBHp-xp9bo9K1UuJDBZej3RAkOwH6Finogjw/s320/DSCF2930.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />And after 'borrowing' some foliage from my darling mothers garden and Lisa @ <a href="http://www.blogger.com/%3Ca">Lisa's Florist</a> kindly making a moss ring, we (my dear OH and I) made a wreath:<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSPPmwYV7Z5sjMzaFro0eYK0NHr-eiIDN8WKUtyEDeZ63buIPSQEyfGyww9jwIhQOQWWWQQ6Z2ZGFkzwfAjF6gr9DpHqYdQfxcZMMnwJ9cMJ_El7qZlfxVVce7NjoGNuJCRW9gruRGQr4/s1600-h/DSCF2986.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420738106942532738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSPPmwYV7Z5sjMzaFro0eYK0NHr-eiIDN8WKUtyEDeZ63buIPSQEyfGyww9jwIhQOQWWWQQ6Z2ZGFkzwfAjF6gr9DpHqYdQfxcZMMnwJ9cMJ_El7qZlfxVVce7NjoGNuJCRW9gruRGQr4/s320/DSCF2986.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And now to a more pressing matter, crafting! Specifically the jar of buttons i've had sitting in my dresser for ages; So this morning, in a flash of inspiration I decided to turn them into button brooches filled with a mix of colours, shapes and sizes. I'm planning on doing some more exciting things with this technique but I shall keep it a close guarded secret for now:<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Lvbmn0w_OZ1os4asbA8kHGsRMNyKdP_8SuYfK1iTD_HnzscjBz-F28F5_xhM7YPgblwhvoX7WGa3U312caTpoRTdhwTD_MSjPBcx6LWtVGy3nInwcEafw_cVwWyLkGA1SS6Uy7kiBC8/s1600-h/DSCF2944.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412839237742802834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Lvbmn0w_OZ1os4asbA8kHGsRMNyKdP_8SuYfK1iTD_HnzscjBz-F28F5_xhM7YPgblwhvoX7WGa3U312caTpoRTdhwTD_MSjPBcx6LWtVGy3nInwcEafw_cVwWyLkGA1SS6Uy7kiBC8/s320/DSCF2944.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />And here's the finished brooch, although I like yellow, a lot, I'm going to try out some other colours for the background....<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwXDr1Yy5Lw-RN1cLmC_gP4dVXuvMyWfEbj4OmdOnvnC0b-Fd-LuocGkTkgohQ-5JtIIcF7bu4084EIIGj8qBW6B4qVLoUN26ry0up6bORs0yfsQSmI_b4QHb0NI2mCK6K0Q7YSspD1hU/s1600-h/DSCF2947.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412839666570706850" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwXDr1Yy5Lw-RN1cLmC_gP4dVXuvMyWfEbj4OmdOnvnC0b-Fd-LuocGkTkgohQ-5JtIIcF7bu4084EIIGj8qBW6B4qVLoUN26ry0up6bORs0yfsQSmI_b4QHb0NI2mCK6K0Q7YSspD1hU/s320/DSCF2947.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Phew, that was a long and rather photo ladened first post.
